Larder>East is a community food hub in East Belfast that believes everyone deserves good food. Our members can shop with us weekly, purchasing high quality produce for affordable prices.
Initially the initiative of a faith community trying to serve the community, we began offering food support locally in 2013. But as we became more 'popular' than anticipated we began questioning if anyone should have to repeatedly rely on emergency provision from food banks. As a response to this concern we do things differently here at Larder>East
Our food is not free, it is valuable and so are the people we encounter at Larder>East. Through our membership model we try to honour the value in everyone involved in the production and distribution of our food and our incredible community who shop here.
Our two pillar membership aspires to expand our food hub beyond economic segregation, providing a space where people from all walks of life can rub shoulders. There is more about our ethos in our news section.
The church community out of which Larder>East emerged continues to meet on Sunday mornings at 11am, details of which can be found here.
